Lena Engström

Postdoctoral researcher at LPS Orsay

About me

I am currently a postdoc at the Laboratoire de Physique des Solides at Université Paris-Saclay, working with Andrej Mesaros and Pascal Simon.

I completed my PhD in 2023 with Tami Pereg-Barnea, at McGill University, and William Witczak-Krempa, at Université de Montréal.

My research interests concern quantum materials, strong interactions, and high Tc superconductivity. Specifically, I work on projects closely connected to experiments to find new ways to determine hard-to-access properties of compounds.

CV

My B.Sc. and M.Sc. in physics is from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. My master thesis An Effective Model for the Flat Bands of a Dice Lattice, was done under the supervision of Sebastian Huber at ETH Zürich, Swizerland.
I have an interest and involvement in inclusivity and diversity in physics as well as outreach. Some of this has been through
EDI at Physics at McGill University
Vetenskapens Hus (in Stockholm)
Physics Chapter at KTH
McGill Graduate Association of Physics Students
